The Abbey of Sant’Antimo is one of the most significant Romanesque monuments and a significant example of the monastic building of the early twelfth century. The Abbey is situated 9 km from Montalcino, in the valley of the Starcia torrent (that flows from the Orcia River), near the town of Castelnuovo dell'Abate.
Hiking in the beautiful surrounding hills is a good choice, and we selected some memorable trails where you can walk through some of the most famous wine growing areas of Europe, the Brunello di Montalcino wine-region.
