Bees in the garden - Catching a swarm of bees at Casa Vacanze Podere Santa Pia

Do you have a tree with some bees and you want to get rid of them or catch them? This video shows you how a bee keeper removes a large swarm of bees.
The countryside of the Tuscan Maremma is one of the most beautiful settings that nature can offer, but it can get rather hot. If the temperature rises quickly in spring, the bees get pretty warm in their hives and can become overcrowded. When a hive becomes overcrowded, a queen will split off, taking a large portion of the existing colony with her to create a new colony. This is called swarming. What to do if they land in your garden?
Emanuel M., a beekeeper in Castiglioncello Bandini, Tuscany, shows how to catch a swarm. This was the first bee hive at Podere Santa Pia.

Arezzo, Sansepolcro and Monterchi, the homeland of Piero della Francesca

This tour in the homeland of Piero della Francesca was organized by Podere Santa Pia in Tuscany. The tour starts in Arezzo at Piero's unrivaled masterpiece, the cycle of frescos named The Legend of the True Cross and ends in Assisi where we admire the fourteenth-century frescoes by numerous late medieval painters, including Giotto, Simone Martini, and Pietro Lorenzetti.
The homeland of Piero della Francesca was filmed in Montalcino, Arezzo, Sansepolcro, Monterchi, Assisi and San Giovanni d’Asso in the Val d'Orcia.

Villa La Foce

The stunning Villa La Foce is located on a hill overlooking the Val d'Orcia, a beautiful and miraculously intact valley in Southern Tuscany. Villa La Foce was purchased by Antonio and Iris Origo in 1927. They engaged the English architect Cecil Pinsent, who had previously done extensive work on Bernard Berenson's Villa I Tatti in Florence, to restructure the main buildings and create a large garden. On his grand tour of Italy, Monty Don stops at La Foce. He discovers how, like a piece of sculpture, Renaissance gardens were created as works of art, and how a group of Edwardian ex-pats mistakenly reinforced the idea that formal Italian gardens were flowerless.
